Adam Canfield of the Slash by
Alex P.
The book Adam Canfield of the Slash is a story about elementary/middle school reporters who create a newspaper for their school. The main characters are Adam and Jennifer. The newspaper team throughout the year uncovers some very interesting stories, but Mrs. Marris, the principal, won't let them write about or print them. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes solving problems or mysteries. This book shows how hard and how much work it takes to make a school news paper. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about kids working together; in this book, that happens a lot. I remember my elementary school newspaper and how much it was fun to read. Someday, I might want to work on a school newspaper. This book is fun to read and is good for book reports. I would give this book a 8 out of 10 newspapers. I liked the book because it spends a lot of times with the main characters Adam and Jennifer trying to solve a lot of problems. I also like this book because it relates to school and has to do with real problems in the school, the newspaper, and outside of school.
Adam Canfield of the Slash by Alex Z.
If you like the newspaper, then the book Adam Canfield of the Slash is for you. It was a very good book that had a great ending. I really liked the characters Adam, Jennifer, and Phoebe, because they had great personalities that anyone can understand. I know that any body who has a hectic schedule can understand what Adam's going through. I can personally understand Adams life because I have a busy schedule. It had a very good plot and great characters. I would recommend this book to anybody who loves realistic fiction books like I do. It was a good read and I would read it again if I owned the book, but I would recommend it to anyone.I would rate this book a 7 out of 10 Pulitzers. It was one of my favorite books I've ever read but it need a little something more. It's a great book that anyone would enjoy!
Adam Canfield of the Slash by Patrick B.
When I asked the librarian where any good books were, she recommended the book, Adam Canfield of the Slash. Adam Canfield is the editor of the school newspaper, The Slash, but his principal oversees it. When his principal wants him and his co-editor Jennifer, to do a story about a grant given to the school, with like no details at all, they knew something funny was going on. So, Adam and Jennifer race against time to expose the horrible principal. This book teaches about freedom of the press and standing up for what you believe in. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars because it is well written and has an individual type of humor throughout the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a little mystery, a little humor, and to anyone that works for a school newspaper.
Adam Canfield of the Slash by Zack S.
If you like mystery books, then you will like Adam Canfield of the Slash. This book is about two kids, Adam and Jennifer, who find out that their school principal is stealing thirty-seven thousand dollars. The money was donated for general improvements to help the children, but she's using it for herself. I would recommend Adam Canfield of the Slash to someone who likes mystery books. I like to read a good mystery and guess who did it. I would give Adam Canfield of the Slash 7 out of 10 stars. I liked this book because it had a very catchy plot, interesting storyline and very exciting characters.
Chicken Boy by Charlie S.
Imagine living in a dirty house and your Grandma, brother, and sister getting in trouble with the police. Nobody really like Tobin except for one boy named Henry they become really good friends and start raising chickens together. If you like farm animal this is the book for you. Two lonely boys start raising chickens and become very good friends. I would rate this book an 8 out of 10 chickens because it didn't have a good ending but the rest of the book was great.
Chicken Boy by
Paul O.
A new kid at a new school named Tobin makes one friend in the book Chicken Boy by Francis O'roark Dowell. His name is Henry. Henry loves chickens and helps Tobin figure out that chickens are the meaning of life. I rate this book 9 out of 10 chickens because it's funny, and it actually makes sense (unlike some books out there). It's fun, and you can actually learn from it, like the time Harrison forces Tobin to run, and he finds out he's fast. The book Chicken Boy receives the Animal Book of the Month Award! This book receives this award because in it some of the characters show how to take good care of animals. That's why this book deserves the award. I recommend this book to anyone who loves birds or is a new kid at a new school. You will find some connections between you and the characters.
Chicken Boy by Varun S.
I would recommend Chicken Boy to someone who likes to read about kids who get into trouble. Tobin, the main character, gets into quite a lot of trouble in the book when he gets into a fist fight with someone at school and then gets suspended. I would rate this book a six out of ten stars. I didn't really like Tobin's negative attitude towards everything. He didn't really want to try to get good grades at school, and he never did his homework. I did like that Tobin could stand up for himself. He also felt like he had to get into trouble because his teachers wouldn't stop talking about him and saying how good of a change he was from his brothers. Over all I think the book was pretty good.
Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two by Jerry B.
Code Talker was the best World War II book I ever read. It was about a Navajo named Ned Begay who joins the marines for a special purpose: To use the Navajo language as a code that the Japanese can't break. I would recommend this book to people who like historical fiction books about World War I or II. I would rate this book 8 out of 10 dog tags. The author gave a lot of detail which I really liked. When they stormed the beaches on Iwo Jima I could almost smell the air, feel the sand, and invision the whole scene. I also liked how it was told from first person point of view. It made me feel like Ned was telling the story to me. Overall this book was full of detail and kept me guessing to the very end.
Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two by Luisa R.
Do you enjoy reading World War II books or books about the marines? If you do you would really enjoy reading CODE TALKER. This book is about a boy who decided to join the marines at age 16. He tells what went on in his life like he was telling a story around a campfire to his grandchildren! I would really recommend this book to people who like to read about Navajos, marines, or just anyone who is looking for a good book to read. I really enjoyed this book because it helped me understand things that could be happening in Iraq today. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 marine soldiers because it is a really interesting book about the marines in 1940's.
Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two by Michelle D.
Code Talker is an exciting book written by Joseph Bruchac, and it is all about World War II and the Navajo Indians. The book is narrated by the main character, Ned Begay who went to boarding school and was beaten there. Later on he went to high school and enjoyed it. He loved to read about history. When he heard that the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, he wanted to help fight for the American cause. One year later his parents let him join up. After that he went to code school and learned a special code that the Japanese could not crack. He fought in Guam and Iwo Jima, one of the Japanese islands. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good war story and likes a little humor and drama. I would rate this book a ten out of ten American flags because it was enjoyable and fun to read about what soldiers have to go through while they're at war.
Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two by Tyler A.
Do you like books about World War II? I sure do. The book Code Talker is about a fictional Navajo marine in World War II, named Ned Begay. The purpose of Navajos in World War II was to send messages in their language without the enemy knowing what they're saying.I would recommend this book for any one who likes learning about World War II and/or the Navajos who fought in it.I would rate this book 10 out of 10 platoons. You get a good feeling of World War II from the inside.
Crooked River by
Sydney P.
If you like mystery and history, you would like the book Crooked River. Filled with a murder and injustice, it kept me on the edge of my seat. I never knew if the main character, Reb or Rebecca was going to get caught or not. The book is a battle between the Indians and the white people, but not a real battle, a battle in the courtroom. An Indian was accused of murder. I liked this book a lot. It was a 9 stars out of ten book. I thought the book was a little slow at the beginning, but it got better with each page.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have cancer? Toby is an eleven year old boy who had been in many hospitals to get rid of his cancer. He goes on vacation to a farm house and meets an old nice lady whose name is Pearl. If you want to know what happens to Pearl and Toby, you will have to read the book! I would recommend this book to anyone who has or has had cancer. I would also recommend this book to anyone who has wondered about cancer. I gave this book nine out of ten juicy tomatoes. I liked how Toby would sneak out of his house and then ride on a bike to go feed the cow named Blossom.sneakingout sounds like something I would do.
Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Deimante J.
If you like family books, then Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie is the book for you! Steven was annoyed by his little brother, Jeffrey, but then when he found out that Jeffrey had cancer, it turned his life upside down. I would recommend this book to people who like sad but also humorous books. The author does a great job telling the readers how people really feel when they have cancer. I give this book 8 out of 10 stars. This book was great, but the book wasn't very exciting. That's why I didn't really want to read the book, but in the end, it turned out to be one of my favorite books.
Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Effie G.
Steven's life (and mind) is divided in three parts: rums, girls, and Dangerous Pie (his little brother Jeffery). But then Jeffery flips Steven's world up-side down when the family finds out that Jeffery has Leukemia. Can Steven's parents hold their breaking family together, and will Jeffery live to see adulthood? I recommend this book to anyone who plays the drums or plays any other musical instrument. I can relate because I play violin and piano, and when I play, it's like there's nothing else in the world except for me and my music. I give this book 8 out of 10 Dangerous Pies. I liked this book because it showed a realistic family during hard times. I also liked the book because it was very oriented with music. The reason I did not like the book was because it was slow paced and there wasn't much action.
Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Erik P.
Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie is a book about a boy named Steven who had a normal life, until one morning. Steven woke a little early before school, so he went downstairs to the basement to play on his practice pad in his dad's sound proof office. Then his little brother Jeffrey came down and snuck up on him and said he wanted some oatmeal. So Steven went upstairs and made him some oatmeal whilel Jeffrey sat on the stool. Then all of a sudden Jeffrey fell off the stool and got a bloody nose and that's where Steven's problems start.(Recommendation)I think people that like to read relative books should read it.(Rating)I give this book a rating of 9 out of 10 pies because this book really interested me and it helped me understand how life is when a sibling has cancer and leukemia.
Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Kimberly M.
The book Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie is a heart breaking novel set in the state of New York. The main character Steven likes a girl named, Renee Albert, but she thinks he's kind of weird. That's not his only problem. He has a little brother named, Jeffrey. They find out that there's something wrong with him, so they take him to the hospital and something happens. What will happen to Jeffrey and his family? If you want to know what happens to Jeffrey, you'll have to read the book.
Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Lauren L.
Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie is an amazing book about a family that has to deal with the youngest brother Jeffery's cancer. I enjoyed reading about the oldest brother Steven, the main character, as he tries to hold his family together while they go through paying bills and traveling to Pennsylvania every week to deal with chemotherapy. It is fun to read about how much these two brothers love each other. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about people who have to cope with big problems. I like this book so much that I would give it nine out of ten stars because it was fun and enjoyable to read.
Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Maddie G.
If you have ever had a family member or friend who has been a victim of cancer, this is the book for you. The main character, Steven in Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie has a brother who is diagnosed with cancer. Steven has to make choices like going with his brother to the hospital or staying at the concert to do his big drum solo that he has been preparing for, for months. This book changed my mind about my siblings and puts me in the shoes of Steven. This book is not all sad though; it definitely had some parts that made me smile. Jeffery, Steven's brother, is hysterical, and some of the stuff he said made me laugh. This book has every emotion in it and gives the reader a little taste of everything. Anyone who reads this book will enjoy it!!
Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Matt S.
If you like a good realistic fiction novel, Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie is the book for you. It is a book about a boy, Steven who has a little brother Jeffrey. He is no ordinary, annoying little brother. Jeffrey has very advanced leukemia and is fighting for his life. Steven has to learn to juggle his social life and his family. I recommend this book to anyone who has had a family member with cancer. I know how Steven feels because I've had several family members with cancer. I give this book 9 out of 10 Pies. This book has a very clear plot I felt like I was in the book.
Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Megan R.
Drums, girls and dangerous pie are some of the many things Steven has to worry about. Steven Alper is a 13 year-old boy who plays the drums in the All City jazz band. He has a crush on the cutest girl in school, Renee Albert, and she doesn't even know he exists. Steven's adorable 5 year-old brother, Jeffrey, is extremely annoying, but once Jeffrey is diagnosed with Leukemia, he will need a lot of care. Will Jeffrey live to be an adult? I would recommend this book to anyone who knows someone who has been really sick or in the hospital. Steven was scared thinking about his brother getting needles stuck in his back, and I know how he feels because I have had a really sick relative in the hospital before, and I was worried too. I would rate this book a ten out of ten drum sticks. I really liked how Steven was scared to mention his brother's illness to anyone at first, and once he told someone, he started pulling his grades up and his life got easier. I also enjoyed the character of Jeffrey because he went through so much pain taking all of his medications.
Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Melissa U.
If you think you are having a hard time, just read the book Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie and see that your life is not that bad! Readers can also see that even the worst conditions, like having a little brother with leukemia and cancer with a family that is falling apart can turn out perfectly in the end! This book is good for all types of readers, such as people who like twists when they least expect it, and people who have a great imagination because you can picture most of the situations in the book. I would give this book five out of six drumsticks because it had some difficult situations in the book, but most of the book turns out very good, and everything turned out OK in the end!
Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Ryan W.
Do you like realistic fiction books? If you do you might like my book. In my book there is a boy named Steven who is a drummer in the all city jazz band. When Steven was making Jeffery his brother breakfast, Jeffery falls off a stool and gets a bloody nose. He has to go to the hospital. In the middle of the story he comes home, and he has leukemia and no one told Steven. Do you think Jeffery will get better? You can find out by reading the book.I would recommend this book to a person who has a younger brother who has an illness or bad bruises and injuries. Hey, if you like to play the drums, you also might like this book.I would rate this book an eight out of ten drums. What I like about this book is Steven is a really good drummer. He practices everyday and works very hard. He helped his brother not be embarrassed by shaving his head. It's a really good book.
Listening for Lions by
Kaleigh T.
If you like book's that have adventure but are also gentle, Listening for Lions is a good book for you. Listening for Lions is about a girl named Rachel Sheridan. Rachel lives in Africa with her parents. They are missionaries at the nearby hospital. One day influenza strikes, and Rachel's parents get really sick and eventually die. To find out what happens next, you'll have to read the book. I recommend this book to people who are close to nature. The book is compared to the natural world most of the time. For example, when Rachel can't sleep, she'll sit on her porch and listen for lions and hyenas. I give this book a four out of four lions because it has so many great qualities. For instance I thought it was sad when Rachel found out her parents have died. It also has drama and some comedy.
Listening for Lions by Monica W.
Rachel Sheridan was born and raised in British East Africa. Unfortunately, when she was 13 her parents died during an influenza epidemic. Rachel has no family to turn to, and is caught up in the devious plans of her wealthy neighbors, the Pritchards. The Pritchards lost their daughter, Valerie who was about Rachel's age, in the epidemic. Valerie was supposed to go meet her wealthy grandfather, who didn't have that much longer to live, in England whom she had never met. So since Valerie is dead, Rachel has no where to go, and the Prichards are greedy for their grandfather's money they use Rachel to pretend to be Valerie so that they will get the money. If you want to find out how Rachel reacts with these problems and how she is going to fix them you'll have to read the book.Recommendation: I would recommend this book to somebody that likes a character that is caring and has a lot of courage. Rachel is dealing with a lot of hard times in her life but no matter how hard it is for her she doesn't give up, she keeps on going. For me that shows a lot of courage. Rating: I would rate this book 8 out of 10 flowers. I also liked how there was an influenza epidemic going on, even though it was very sad it opened my eyes to a different part of history.
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Allie N.
A wonderful book for anyone who likes adventure is, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. In this book the main character goes on a very big adventure. This is book is about a china rabbit named Edward Tulane. He ends up at the bottom of the ocean, then with a fisherman, a hobo, and finally a sick child. He misses his owner Abilene very much. To find out what happens to Edward, you'll have to read the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure. I would also recommend this book to anyone who has lost something or someone special to them. I would rate this book five out of five stars. I loved the anticipation and excitement of what would happen next in Edward's adventure. I loved the adventure and experiences that Edward went through and the lesson he learned about what it's like to really love someone other than himself. Overall I loved this book.
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Carly D.
The story The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is adventurous and interesting because so many life-changing events happen to the main character, Edward Tulane. At first he only loves himself, but as the story goes on, he learns what true love is. I recommend this book to a person who has ever lost something they truly love or admire. I know this because I lost my great grandmother, and when I read this book, it made me feel better. I also recommend this book to a person who likes adventurous stories. My rating this book is ten out of ten hearts. I thought The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane was an awesome book because it had a great plot and a touching theme.
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Grant S.
If you like adventures, the book The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is for you. In the book, the main character Edward was lost by a young girl named Abilene, and he is trying to get back to her. But on the way, he goes through many obstacles, like mean fathers, careless train drivers, sick children, and much more. I thought it was a very exciting book, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good fictional adventure. Edward goes to so many different settings in the book and has many troubles in all of them. I'd give The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane eight out of ten dolls. It had lots of different characters that were all important in some point of the story, and Edward developed a relationship with all of them. Like Bryce he had to give Edward up for the best interest in Edward. I also liked the settings; Edward went to the bottom of the mucky ocean to the house of his owner Abilene and many places between.
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by
Hailey K.
Do you like adventure? If you answered “yes,” then you should read The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. It's about a china rabbit named Edward who is extremely selfish. One day Edward goes on a cruise with his owner Abilene. During the cruise, two boys decide to play catch using Edward as the ball. Abilene tries to get Edward back by tackling the boy who was about to throw Edward, but the boy had already thrown Edward. Instead of flying into the other boy's hands, Edward went flying into the ocean and sinks to the bottom. He waits a very long time until eventually a fisherman fishes him out of the water, and that is where Edwards story begins. I relate to Edward because I know what it feels like to be lost and alone. I would rate this book a seven out of ten rabbits. I loved all the amazing people Edward met, but I didn't like all the sadness Edward went through. Over all it was an excellent book.
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Justin D.
Have you ever read the book the Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane? If you haven't it is a good book. It's about a little rabbit . He goes through a lot. He stuck in places like the depths of the ocean, to a top of garbage can , to a hoboe's camp. He might get a new owner, but I'm not going to tell you. So read it and find out. The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Ryan N.
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is a heartwarming story about a china rabbit that discovers the meaning of love through many different people. Edward has lots of owners all the way from a rich high class family to a hobo and his dog. He has also been too many different places like the bottom of the sea, a run away train and too the streets of Memphis. I recommend this book to a person who loves a great fantasy story because it has lots of impossible things that could never happen. This is one of the best fiction books I have read in a long time. I liked it because the author used lots of descriptive words in it. I give this book a 7 out of 10 golden rabbits. All in all this entire book is a incredible story about a china rabbit that goes on a journey of a life time.
MVP*: *Magellan Voyage Project by Adam T.
If you think travel around the world in forty days on land is impossible, then MVP is your book. The young Adam Story has the challenge to travel around the world in forty days, and if he makes it, he will win four million dollars. Adam is not the only one in the game; there are over forty more teams he has to beat to win. He also must avoid trackers, stoppers and the devious Baron von Sheepsbottom. I would recommend this book to somebody who likes geography. This book shows a lot of geography, because when he is there the author explains the land and landmarks very well. I would also recommend this book to some who likes to study different cultures. This book shows that he has to exchange his dollars for different currency and you hear many other languages. I would give this book a 9 out of 10 poker chips. In the book the pokerchips are used to marked timezones. I give this book that rating because the author did a good job writing the plot and it shows good detail.
MVP*: *Magellan Voyage Project by Caroline S.
If you like adventure books, you'll love MVP. The main character, Adam, is a shy and quiet twelve year old at his elementary school in California. After school, Adam spends most of his time surfing the internet, until…On the last day of school, a mysterious man talks him into joining a world-wide game that seems a fake. What game? Adam will be against twenty-four other twelve year olds in a race around the world in forty days. MVP's Adam gets into a lot of trouble, which a lot of kids can relate to and laugh along. This book also has a very cool travel plot, and if you really like traveling and learning more about foreign countries, then MVP is the book for you. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 poker chips. I really liked this book because Douglas Evans really makes Adam stand out. I really don't have any reasons why I don't like this book. Adam's a really shy kid, and at the end of the book, he gained a whole lot of confidence. When you finish reading MVP, it makes you feel great.
MVP*: *Magellan Voyage Project by
Kevin L.
If you like books about adventure, around the world cultures and true friendship, then MVP is the book for you. In this book, Adam Story enters a contest where he has to travel around the world in 40 days with no air transportation. Adam enters this game for one reason: The four-million dollar prize. He thinks that this contest will be very easy. Well it turns out it will be the hardest task of his life. I really like adventure books, and this is the perfect book for anyone who likes adventure. I give this book 20 out of 24 poker chips because in this story Adam sets a poker chip in each of the time zones he visits. I liked this book because the author described the setting so well; it felt like I was actually in the places he was describing. I liked the friendship between Meredith and Adam throughout the story and also the plot of the story was very good. Over-all I loved this book.
The Old Willis Place: A Ghost Story by Thomas F.
If you like mystery, you would probably like the Old Willis Place by Mary Downing Hahn. The Old Willis Place is a fantastic ghost story that takes place in and around a creepy, old house which may or not be haunted by the last Willis to live there, Miss Lilian. The main characters are sister and brother. Diana and Georgie are not like typical children; they've never attended a normal school and have never used anything electrical. They only own one T-shirt each and a pair of shorts, and neither owns a pair of shoes.I would recommend this book to people who like ghost stories and mysteries. The reason I would recommend this book to people who like ghosts and mysteries is because some of the characters are ghosts and there are a lot of mysteries.I would rate this book a 9 out of 10 ghosts; the reason for this is everything in this book was amazing, but where the two children lived could have been explained better.
The Old Willis Place: A Ghost Story by
Vivian M.

Ms. Willis is out, and she's waiting for you to read. Anyone who likes mystery and excitement you should read this book!!!
The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy
by Danielle T.
If you like adventure and mischief then The Penderwicks is a great book for you. For example, some great adventure happened when the Penderwick girls would climb up a big tree and into Jeffery, the cottage owner's son's room. This book is like my life because it is about four sisters, and I am one of four siblings. The story goes from playing with cute little bunnies to running away from raging bulls. The Penderwicks will make you laugh, make you happy, and even make you sad during the story. I would definitely rate this book eight out of ten stars. The Penderwicks is a very fun, summer story.
The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy
by Emily F.
If you enjoy mischief, then The Penderwicks is a book you would like. This is a very funny book about four sisters who take a trip with their father to a small, yellow cottage. Next to the cottage is a big mansion named Arundel Hall. The owner of the mansion is Mrs. Tifton, who is not a nice person. Skye, the middle child meets a boy named Jeffrey one day in the gardens of Arundel Hall. The girls and Jeffrey get along very well and become friends. The children have very exciting adventures in the book like almost getting trampled by a bull! Many more adventures happen in this exciting book. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to people who like mischief and adventure. I would give this book nine out of ten pianos because Jeffrey loves to play piano. This book is filled with adventure and fun.
The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy
by Julia P.
I would recommend the Penderwicks to a reader who loves adventure books and has a large imagination. I can relate to all the characters in this book because they are all mischievous and love getting in trouble, and that's like me. You would love to read this book because it is a summer vacation book, and you can relate to having a good summer vacation and having fun with family and friends. The Penderwicks is about four sisters, two rabbits, and a very strange boy. The setting of the story is a estate called Arundel. The Penderwicks family includes the twelve year old Rosalind, eleven year old Skye, ten year old Jane, four year old Batty, hound and their dad. They would normally stay at a cottage in Cape Cod. But that year their cottage in Cape Cod was sold, so they had to go to Arundel for their summer vacation holidays. But they had no idea what the owner was like, or what was going to happen during their stay.My rating for this book is 9 out of 10 butterfly wings because the book has lots of critters in the story, and most of them are butterflies and because Batty wore butterfly wings everywhere in the story. That reminded me of when I was little because I used to wear butterfly wings and would wear them everywhere too.
Princess Academy by Andrea S.
If you like adventure you would like the book “The Princess Academy.” Miri is 14 year old girl who lives on Mount Eskel. But because of her size, she is forbidden to work in the linder mines. One night soldiers come to take away all eligible girls to a princess academy. Later one will be chosen to be the bride of the prince. Sally D.
If you like books about adventure, this book is for you. It's about a girl named Miri, who lives on Mt. Eskel. Her town was chosen by a priest to host a school called the Princess Academy. All the girls who are 12 to 16 years old have to learn how to be princesses because one will be chosen to marry the kingdom's prince. I would recommend this book to girls who like excitement & adventure; and yes I'm one of those girls. Miri has to deal with a mean teacher and bandits. I would give this book a 9 ½ out of 10 Linder blocks, the main product of Mount Eskel, because it has excitement, adventure & romance. Will Miri get to be princess or will one of her friends be chosen? To find out, you'll have to read the book.
Princess Academy by Sarah M.
Do you ever need a time to just sit down, relax and read a good book? Well here's a book for you. The Princess Academy was a realistic fiction fairytale about a girl named Miri. Miri doesn't have any friends when she goes to the academy because her pa won't let her work in the quarry with everyone else. Well, she soon makes some friends at the academy. I recommend this book to anyone who doesn't like too much adventure but maybe a little because there wasn't too much of it. I wouldn't recommend this book to any guys. I really don't think they would want to read a book about becoming a princess. I like this book because I can relate to the character a little. For example, I always had problems making friends and wasn't able to do some things that I wanted to. I don't like this book because there weren't any details. I hope a lot of people get to read and enjoy this book. I would give this book 8 ½ out of 10 stars.
Princess Academy by Valerie O.
Miri, a regular mountain girl, is taken away from her home and family to the Kingdom's Princess Academy. Under pressure from her mean teacher and studying to the bone, will she become the new Kingdom's princess? Will she miss her friends and family? Read the book to find out! I recommend this book to anyone who likes a sense of adventure or is in a fight with a really close friend. Miri doesn't have a lot of friends in the beginning because she stood up for herself and all of the girls in trouble . When I read this book, it was the best book I have ever read! This book was great in my opinion! I liked it because it was about a girl who is kind of mad at her dad who won't let her work in the quarry like her other friends. I also liked it because it was about princesses. But, I disliked this book because the book was kind of slow. Over all, I rate this book 9 out of 10 Princesses! Why? Just read the book and you'll find out!

The Ruins of Gorlan is about a boy named Will who has no last name and is waiting to be chosen for a career that he must follow for the rest of his life. Join Will in his training as a Ranger and the war against Morgarath! If you like adventure books, you will like The Ruins of Gorlan. This book has nonstop action like hunting a boar and the Kalkara and Will's being bullied. If you read this book, you will have amazing adventures just like Will!I would rate this book 10 out of 10 longbows. I did not like the three bullies Alda,Byrn and Jerome or why Halt never smiled.
The Ruins of Gorlan by Mason M.
The Ruins of Gorlan is a great fantasy book that will make you sit on the edge of your seat. Will, the main character faces the problem of being chosen to be ranger, which he is not too happy about. In the end, Will needs to save not only his master Halt, but the Baron and the battle master of his kingdom. I would definitely recommend this book for people who love a good adventure and a fantasy book. One of my favorite parts in the book was when Will scales the tower to find out information about his future. I would rate this book a nine out of ten arrows. It was a great book, but the first few chapters were a little boring. Over all it was a great.
The Ruins of Gorlan by Ryan G.

Will doesn't get an apprentice job on the Choosing Day, so he is worried that he might have to work on a farm. So, Will decides to climb a tower of a medieval castle, to peak at what his job is, but when he gets up there, he is caught! If you like fantasy books, this book is great book for you. This book has adventure and tons of action. I would rate this book 10 out of 10 arrows, because it has action, excitement, and a lot if unexpected twists. The only thing I didn't like was that it was a little hard to catch on in the beginning, but then it gets really good!
The Ruins of Gorlan by Sydne W.
Do you like adventure? If you do, The Ruins of Gorlan will be good for you. Fifteen year old Will wants to become a knight when he grows up, but he ends up being chosen by the ranger, Halt to become his apprentice. Will is a little disappointed at first and doesn't like the scary figure who will be his mentor. As time goes on, Will learns to like Halt. Will even risks his life to help Halt defeat monsters that threaten the kingdom that he grew up in. I would rate this book ten of ten swords because it is so surprising. If you like adventure books, then The Schwa Was Here is the book for you. I've read this book 2 times; that's how much I like it. I would rate The Schwa Was Here an 8 and a half stars out of 10 stars. This is mostly because I like what happens in the book.
The Schwa Was Here by Kate D.
The Schwa Was Here is a great book for people who have lost parents or feel like they are sometimes out of it. I found this book funny and entertaining with all of the trouble the boys are always causing, like breaking into houses, pushing things off of bridges and running around the city. I thought the pranks in this book were well thought out and well written to make them funny. Also the loss of Schwa's mom made the character more believable, and his loss was a big part of his life. If you like books about trouble makers and learning to get through all of the hard times in life, you will like the Schwa Was HereMy favorite part of the story is the opening when they push Manny Boulpucky, the boys' plastic dummy, off the bridge. The opening part is so much the same as the rest of the story, and I think it gives an idea for the rest of the crazy things that will happen during the rest of the book . I also like that there are rumors in this book because things like that do happen in the real world and kids can relate to.
The Schwa Was Here by Rajeev R.
If you are curious, you might enjoy The Schwa Was Here by Neal Shusterman. The book is about a boy named Anthony Bonano who meets a mysterious boy known as the Schwa. When you're with Anthony, you never know what happens next. If you are curious and enjoy somewhat funny books, you might enjoy this book because many of the characters were very curious, and their reactions were very funny. For example, when Anthony would get in trouble, it wouldn't bother him. He would just resume whatever he got in trouble for. For example when Anthony was vandalizing, he got grounded for a month, but he continued to vandalize. I would give this book 8 out of 10 bad puns. The author made the characters easy to relate to, so I understood what the characters were going through. I enjoyed the way Neal Shusterman described New York City and the places that compose it, such as the Empire State Building, the Chrysler building, etc. However, the author did not make the ending very clear. The Schwa Was Here puts a smile on readers' faces.

Thunder from the Sea by
Megan E.
The book Thunder from the Sea is a fun, thrilling book. It's about an orphan named Tom who finds a dog while on a fishing trip with his adopted father Enoch, and he names it Thunder. Fiona, his adopted mother, becomes pregnant, and he is worried about her health and if they still want him. Later, the bridge to the hospital collapsed after a tragic earthquake. Fiona's water broke, and the baby is coming, so Tom, Thunder, and Fiona must make it across the ice safely to town. Will Thunder, Tom, and Fiona make it safely?Read the book to find out. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a dog lover like I am and Tom in the story. In the book, Tom fights for his dog Thunder so he can stay with him. I've seen this in my life time, and it's a hard thing to go through. My old black lab died when I was little. It was very sad. Tom got in a huge fight with the neighbor over letting the dog go back with the real owner. Tom wouldn't let that happen. I would rate this book a nine out of ten black dogs. I liked the setting, which took place on an island called Newfoundland. I would still enjoy more backgrounds in regards to his parents. There where too many characters popping up in the story that I felt unnecessary.

Do you ever feel like you have been replaced, like you just don't feel welcome any more in your family? The book Worth is about feeling left out. The story takes place on a farm in Nebraska. The main characters are Nate, John, Pa and Ma. Nate broke his leg, and that is when the book started to get good. The family adopts a son to work on the farm; his name is John. Nate's father brings home an orphan boy named John Worth to help with Nate's chores. Nate will have to learn how to get along with John and prevent the war between the farmers and ranchers in the town. I would recommend the book to someone who likes historical fiction and mysteries. I would rate this book a 7 out of 10 school books.
Worth by Ty
Worth was the best book I ever read with the adventures, excitement, and suspenseful chapters! Some of the main character's names are Nathan James and John Worth. The plot is to get John Worth and Nate's Mom to get along and to prevent fence cutters to get into their farm. This story takes place on a small cabin by a big farm. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes little action but big plots like adopting an orphan son, breaking a leg while working on a farm, hunting down fence cutters, and going through school without knowing how to read. I rate this book 8 out of 10 farms because there wasn't enough action, but the plot and characters were perfect.
