Adam Canfield of the Slash by Amy O.
I read Adam Canfield of the Slash. I really didn't like it very much. The ending is predictable. There are many other nominees that are better books.

Chicken Boy by Amy O.
I just finished Chicken Boy. It is a good book because I think a lot of kids can relate to what Tobin is going through. I would definitely recommend it.

Chicken Boy by Ashley Z.
The book I read was Chicken Boy. It is pretty outstanding. It's about a boy who gets in a big fight in his school, when a new friend, named Henry, helps him. they then raise chickens. But will Henry be able to keep his chickens, due to his Crazy Grandma that always gets tickets from the police, and his father that does nothing except watch TV?!

Chicken Boy by Gavyn J.
Chicken Boy is very very very very very BAD...... It is very very DULL.  I think that Chicken Boy is the worst book I have ever read.

Chicken Boy by Joseph C.
The book Chicken Boy was one of the most dumbest books I have ever read because I did not understand it.

Chicken Boy by Kayte B.
My teacher read us Chicken Boy. It's about 2 boys that raise chickens togethe. One boy might be permanantly at a foster home because of the call to the social workers made by his grandmother that hated his dad ever since her daughter, (his mom) passed away because of an illness.

Chicken Boy by Kyle H.
I think Chicken Boy is not a good book. It needs more action. It is to DULL!!!!!!!!!!!!  I did not like it. I don't think it should be a Rebecca Caudill book.

Chicken Boy by Michael
Chicken Boy is a nice book. It wasa funny book. The best part of the book was when Tobin had a fight with Cody and someone helpped Tobin.

Code Talker: A Novel About the Navajo Marines of World War Two by Amy O.
I read Code Talker and loved it! It tells a great story of a Navajo who becomes a Code Talker in WW2. It is an outstanding book.

Crooked River by Amy O.
Crooked River is a great book. It is about a Native American falsely accused of a crime and a girl that tries to help him. I really enjoyed it.

Defiance by Amy O.
Defiance is an o.k. book. I think the author is trying to make a connection between the death of the cow and Toby's attitude about death. Not a real page turner.

Drums, Girls, & Dangerous Pie by Amy O.
I just finished Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie. It is about a boy dealing with his little brother's leukemia. It is a good book that I would recommend.

Listening for Lions by Amy O.
I just finished Listening For Lions and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the entire book. It was great to see a main character with such great character. Great book for all, especially one girls would like.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Amy O.
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is an o.k. book. It is one of the quickest reads on the list. It is easy to read and a nice story, but not as "deep" as some of the others on the list.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Ashley Z.
The book I read was The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. It is a dramatic story of how a china doll bunny travels aroun the world to retreive his owner, an learns the true feeling of love. This is a very quick book.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Joseph
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane was an ok book. I think that it was a ok book because I really liked  how the rabbit got lost and found a new home he had a goood life at the end.

The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kayte B.

The Old Willis Place: A Ghost Story by Amy O.
The Old Willis Place is an o.k. book, but definitely not my favorite. It is a ghost story about kids who are ghosts. There are better nominees for sure.

The Old Willis Place: A Ghost Story by Kayte B.
The book that I read was The Old Willis Place. This book took some time to read. The two main charactors are Diana and her younger brother, Georgie. A girl named Lissa and her father (and dog McDuff) are the new caretakers at the The Old Willis Manor. Very scary things lurk behind the doors of the Willis Manor's parlor doors. Georgie and Diana are not normal kids, they are trapped on the Willis Manor. Even though you can touch them, they are very mysterious.

The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy
by Amy O.
I did not like the Penderwicks at all.

Princess Academy by Amy O.
I really liked Princess Academy. Any book that has a strong girl as the main character you have to love.

Princess Academy by Ashley Z.
The book I read was Princess Academy. I don't think it was a very interesting book. It talks a lot about quarry Talk. On a scale of 1-10, I would say a 5 or maybe a 6.

The Schwa Was Here by Amy O.
The Schwa Was Here is my favorite nominee so far and I've read 9 of the books. It is funny and meaningful and everything good about a children's book. I absolutely recommend it for girls and boys alike.

Yankee Girl by Amy O.
I read Yankee Girl. It was average at best. I think the issues that it brings up are good, but I think it focused too much on the girl fitting in than the real issues that were more important.

Yankee Girl by Ashley Z.
The book I read was Yankee Girl. I loved it! It was really dramatic. Boys might say that it sounds dumb, but it's not like it's really girly! It's about this black girl, she's the first black girl at her Mississippi school. She doesn't really make ay friends. It's a turn-pager....definitely!
